Just as important as choosing your panel substrate is choosing your roof color. Whether you decide to venture out with a bold color like Banner Red or more modest with Medium Bronze, there is a color for everyone.

Is Energy Efficiency important to you?

Our coil coatings by Sherwin Williams offer cool coating technologies. Our coatings meet LEED, ENERGY START, AND CRRC requirements. They are resistant to sun, rain, and other natural elements and have tremendous UV protection and weatherability. Sherwin Williams coatings also contain solar-reflective pigments that adds to the energy efficiency. Quick Tip: Choosing a lighter color will have better reflectivity than darker colors.

Choose a color that “fits” your home

While some may choose a color from preference, others may opt for a color that fits the architectural style of their house. Here are some options based on architectural styles:
  • Barn or Farmhouse: Brandywine, Colonial Red, Extra Dark Bronze, Matte Black, Classic Green
  • Spanish: Terra Cotta, Colonial Red
  • Craftsman: Sierra Tan, Slate Blue, Slate Gray, Dove Gray
  • Ranch: Charcoal Gray, Dark Bronze, Mansard Brown
  • Modern: Matte Black, Regal White, Charcoal Gray
  • Cape Cod: Sandstone, Slate Gray, Medium Bronze, Dove Gray
  • Victorian: Charcoal Gray, Dove Gray, Hartford Green

Compliment your surroundings

Consider your geographical location before choosing a color. If you live in the mountains, choose cool, earthy tones. If you live in warm, tropical areas, choose colors that are light and bright. If you live in the flatter Midwest, choose softer, earthy tones.

Follow your HOA Rules

Some HOA prohibit certain colors, so make sure you check with your HOA for color choices.
