Solar panels typically last anywhere from 25-30 years and metal roofs can last anywhere from 30-70 years. Which panel profile can you install solar panels on?

Standing seam metal panels are the preferred choice for solar panels. These panels don’t require any additional holes to attach the solar panels. Solar panels can be applied to other panel profiles, but likely need to be fastened using fasteners. Although not required, consider putting your solar panels on lighter color metal roofs. This will maximize your energy efficiency. Lighter colors roofs reflect 55-90% of sunshine.
